Chess in Bochum 7
About this list
Bochum's chess is a club affair spread over the city's districts. The Bochumer Schachverein 02 plays on Thursday evenings at a Protestant parish centre, and SG Bochum 31 keeps a Friday. Schachverein Wattenscheid 1930 trains its youth early on Friday evening before the adults play, and Schachverein Bochum-Linden-Dahlhausen 1922 opens its room for the whole Friday evening, with open youth training at the start.
SC Gerthe 46 – Werne meets on Friday at the youth and leisure house Woody in Gerthe and also trains children; Schachfreunde Springer Bochum in Hamme and Schachverein Günnigfeld appear mostly through their league matches in the Bochum district of the Ruhr federation. No Bochum tournament with a dated edition of its own turned up for this list, so the city's rated games are mainly league rounds.
